How Do I Cast Apple Music From iPhone to Chromecast?
The iOS Apple Music app doesn’t support Chromecast so there’s no way to natively send tracks from the app to a TV via Chromecast. One popular method people used to use to get around this limitation was to download a third-party app that could mirror their iPhone or iPad’s screen on their smart TV. Unfortunately, Apple has since updated iOS’s security and now audio from Apple Music won’t play when a device is being mirrored this way.
Currently the only way to send Apple Music audio from an iPad or iPhone via Chromecast is to use an app that can cast locally stored music files to a smart TV. While this does mean that you won’t be able to broadcast any streamed or live audio, you will be able to play albums or tracks you’ve downloaded for offline listening in the Apple Music app.
There are numerous free and paid iOS apps in the Apple App Store that claim to offer Chromecast music streaming to TVs but many of them no longer work as promised or require an expensive subscription plan to access the features you need.
One of the best apps for Chromecasting music to a TV that we’ve tested and will be using for this example is CastForHome.
CastForHome is free to download and use and doesn’t require signing up for any free trials or paid subscriptions.
